Plant medicine is both an art and science developed and refined over the course of human history, and interwoven into the myths, culinary traditions, and seasonal practices that comprise culture. Join herbalist and medicinal plant grower Lindsay Napolitano as we explore foundational concepts and practices in herbalism that inform how we grow, harvest, process, and utilize plants for health and therapeutic effect. Every plant has a story to tell and an energetic influence over the external ecology of the local environment, and the internal ecology of the human body. This dynamic and interactive intensive will delve into the overlap of tradition and science as we use our senses to understand the activity and energetics of herbs through taste, touch, sight, and smell. We’ll review growing, harvesting, and foraging techniques, and participants will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience crafting plant medicine. This weekend long workshop is designed to jump start your understanding of herbal medicine, and offer you the tools to begin a mindful practice. Hosted on our 10 acre medicinal forest garden, this workshop is ideal for anyone looking to connect with the wild wisdom inherent in the plants where they grow!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR...
Lindsay Napolitano is an herbalist, writer, and educator living and working within the fields and forests of the Delaware River Watershed. She is the co-founder of Fields Without Fences, under the auspices of which she cultivates and tends wild gardens and woodlands while growing and crafting plant medicine for her extended community. Combining a love of story, myth, metaphysics, and ecology, Lindsay weaves an inspired narrative throughout her teachings on the subjects of herbalism, permaculture, and agroecology. She is a practicing clinical herbalist and a writes professionally on subjects including herbalism, permaculture, and environmental renewal. Her work emerges out of a deep curiosity and reverence for the healing power of plants to positively transform our internal and external ecologies. You can usually find her outside, aiding and abetting the plants in their ceaseless quest for world domination.
