INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE: Learning to Design with Nature

INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE: Learning to Design with Nature

Saturday, May 25  & Sunday, May 26, 2019

9:30am - 5:00pm

Fields Without Fences 71 Barbertown Idell Road, Frenchtown, NJ

Permaculture is an ecological design system that aims to mimic naturally occurring ecosystem functions through patterning, and harness their potential for long term sustainable renewal. The foundational ethics presented in permaculture; earth care, people care, fair share; offer a universal compass to navigate our interactions with our environment, our communities, and ourselves.

Join us for a weekend long permaculture design intensive where we will explore foundational concepts, core ethics, techniques and approaches for small to large scale land management, and design strategies for cultivating a meaningful relationship with the natural world. The program will be hosted at Fields Without Fences located in Frenchtown, NJ, where we will explore in-the-ground applications on our 7 year old site, including water management systems, ponds, polycultures, forest gardens, and successional management strategies. Beginners will benefit from this intensive aimed at empowering you to develop and refine your approach and interaction with living systems. Let this course be the fertile soil to grow your understanding of permaculture design from the ground up!
