following a philosophy of deep ecology

Fields Without Fences follows a philosophy of deep ecology rooted in the functionality and balance of natural systems. On our 10 acre certified organic medicinal forest garden farm in Frenchtown, New Jersey we cultivate herbs, fruit, and wild edibles within an innovative, naturalized design framework. Beyond our site we provide permaculture consulting services on projects across the region.  Our cultivation style and ecological approach is aimed at restoring health and integrity to our shared landscape.

WORKSHOP: Foundations in Plant Medicine

45.00

SUNDAY, AUGUST 20th, 10am-3pm

Plant medicine is both an art and science developed and refined over the course of human history, and interwoven into the myths, culinary traditions, and seasonal practices that comprise culture. Join herbalist and medicinal plant grower Lindsay Napolitano as we explore foundational concepts and practices in herbalism that inform how we grow, harvest, process, and utilize plants for health and therapeutic effect. This dynamic and interactive workshop will delve into the overlap of tradition and science as we use our senses to understand the activity and energetics of herbs through taste, touch, sight, and smell. Hosted on our ten acre medicinal forest garden farm, this workshop is ideal for anyone looking to connect with the wild wisdom inherent in the plants where they grow!
