* Our “Beyond the Field” Series highlights select projects Fields Without Fences is working on to further regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, agroecology, environmental renewal, and permaculture within our state, region, and beyond.*

Tusha Yakoleva has authored a wonderful resource guide exploring the crop value of wild plants within the cultivated landscape. The project was funded by a Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Farmer Grant, and has been made available to all for free download.

Fields Without Fences (Lindsay Napolitano) is one of several farmers, foragers, and scientists to share their stories and experiences within this guide.

From Tusha: “Through conversations with other farmers and my experience as a forager, it became clear to me that considering edible weeds as supplemental market crops was of interest to other growers. However, little information was available about how to manage, harvest, and share the stories of these unique crops with customers. I wrote a proposal to bridge this gap and am grateful that Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program considered it a topic relevant to the wider farming community.”
